Best Of, Inc. owns and hosts a network of interactive websites featuring the best places to go and best things to do. We are rapidly expanding into new markets throughout the Caribbean and the United States. Best Of is currently seeking Independent Content Writers (ICWs) for Texas, Florida, North Carolina and The Caribbean. Check out our websites at BestofTexas.com and BestoftheCaribbean.com.
ICWs will contribute up to a maximum of 5 articles or blog entries to our new, interactive blog, 'The Squawker'. There is a 300-word minimum and the areas of focus will be determined by the Editor. The Squawker provides high-quality content daily from a uniquely local perspective. Subject matter includes but is not limited to the arts, entertainment, sports, politics, humor, GLBT content and general interest.

Responsibilities:
1. Understand the pulse within your own location
2. Submit up to five articles or stories per week
3. Each submission to have a minimum of 300 words
4. Write on subject matter defined by you and the editor

Experience:
1. Minimum 2 years experience in one or all of the following: journalism, blogging, copywriting
2. Strong, unique 'voice' and writing tone
3. Previous experience using WordPress
4. Special consideration will be given to writers living in the local areas

Qualifications:
1. Excellent knowledge of WordPress 2.7
2. Excellent communication skills
3. Must be able to work independently and off-site
4. Ability to interact productively and positively with Editor
5. Experience with blogging and geo-targeted content
6. Must provide own Internet access and computer

BestofTexas.com is coming to the Houston market and is looking to fill internet advertising sales positions (ISCs).

Independent Sales Contractors Best of Texas is your local lifestyle community guide featuring local businesses, headquartered in Dallas, Texas. We are rapidly expanding into new markets throughout Texas and are currently seeking inside and outside Independent Sales Contractors (ISCs).

ISCs are responsible for generating revenue, by prospecting and selling advertising space on our websites to small and medium businesses (SMBs). ISCs are also responsible for generating their own leads, making client calls, preparing proposals, making presentations, weekly reporting and successful closing.

Responsibilities:
1. Prospecting and selling Best of Texas Internet advertising to new clients
2. Setting meetings and giving product demonstrations to prospective clients
3. Cold calling prospective clients
4. Maintaining the highest standards of professionalism
5. Working closely with other groups to ensure that the client is completely satisfied
6. Understanding business practices of clients to offer the best solution
7. Completing BOT's advertising agreements

Preferred Experience:
1. Minimum 3 years experience in a sales environment, media sales preferred
2. Strong preference for experience selling internet-based products
3. Previous experience selling interactive solutions

Qualifications:
1. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
2. Excellent communication, presentation and persuasion skills
3. Entrepreneurial spirit
4. Strong understanding of the Internet and its marketing potential for advertisers
5. Ability to interact productively and positively with fellow employees at all levels
6. Must provide your own transportation, laptop and cell phone
